Formation Of The Academy Board

The number of students attending training sessions at the Academy has grown substantially over the first year of the Academy's operation. The need was felt for the formation of a board whose job would be to coordinate and organise the various activities and logistics as deemed fit for such a growing organisation. This includes ranking tournaments, informative seminars, training camps, web site, sponsorships, etc. The first meeting was held on the 22nd March and the board members are Mario Genovese, Edward Baldacchino, Alex Soler, Katia Mifsud, Tanya Baldacchino, Conrad Marmara, Chris Azzopardi, Robert Said and Mark Zammit.

Table Tennis Exhibitions In Schools

In order to promote table tennis amongst young students, exhibitions are being held at various public and private schools. The exhibition consists of a show of the various stroke techniques used in the sport as well as an explanation of the game tactics. This exhibition is presented by Mario and Edward and normally last for a one hour session. We have seen a very enthusiastic response from the students at the schools we visited. Amongst others, exhibitions have been held at Stella Maris College, Saint Michael's School, Saint Albert's College, Marsa Secondary School and Saint Elias School. (View more photos)
