Table Tennis Exhibition in Valletta
July 2006
The Valletta Alive
Foundation, in association with Bank of Valletta, are organising the BOV Streets Alive
Event due to be held in Valletta over a one-month period commencing on July 28.
The BOV Streets Alive events are aimed at reviving Valletta in the evenings through a
series of artistic and cultural events. "The main objectives of the BOV Streets Alive
initiative are to give Valletta its due and proper place on the local scene as an ideal
location for evening leisure, as a cultural hub, as an inspirational city, and as an
historic city wherein European history was forged. This initiative aims to do this by
creating synergies between the arts, leisure and business activities in the city." The Evenings will take place on Fridays and will include a variety of
activities hosted between 6.30p.m. and 9p.m., offering visitors the opportunity to soak in
and delve deeper into the unique characteristics of our Capital. Giving life to the
streets and creating incentives for the general public to truly appreciate the cultural
and historical heritage will certainly help in the Foundation's objective of increasing
the Capital's profile.
The dates of "BOV Streets Alive" will
therefore be on Fridays 28 July, 4, 11 and 18 August 2006 from 6.30p.m. to 9p.m. with the
Table Tennis Academy participating on all 4 Fridays in Merchants' Street. |

ERIK NORDLANDER - SWEDISH GUEST COACH AT THE TTA
October 2005
 |
The coaching force at the Table Tennis Academy has been strengthened with the addition of Erik
Nordlander from Sweden who
has been contracted for a long period. Erik boasts a lot of achievements in his table tennis career starting at the age of 15 when he qualified to be rated as a Class One player in Sweden. Since then Erik has obtained over 25 victories in various competitions held in Sweden. Erik has obtained qualifications as a coach under the guidance of top Swedish coaches such as Kjell Ake Waldner and for 3 seasons he was personal the coach for 3 of among the top 20 best junior players in Sweden.
Bringing Erik over is a real
achievement for local Table Tennis. This is something that is really needed as we have to establish good quality and freshen up situations. Sweden has the best coaching systems in the world after China. Sweden has developed super table tennis giants such as
JO Waldner and Jorgen Persson, Tikkan Carlson, Erik Lins and so many more said Mario Genovese. |
